Chloe's Fabulous Civil War Wiki!! Questions!! 12/2
1.) Besides the obvious Abraham Lincoln, who else was a big part of starting an/or ending the Civil War?
2.) What was the social scene of the Civil War? Were people scared of one another? Were all normal routine things such as school and jobs stopped all together? Were people in danger constantly?
3.) How exactly did it end?
4.) Was slavery and African American cruelty still evident even after the war?
5.) What was the overall mood of Americans after the war had ended?
Paragraph 12/3
I have to agree that the country was probably always divided by the climate and the geography. Really the south is much different than the north, even today. I also think that the people didn't really try to prevent any seperation from occuring in the beggining of the Civil War. I also have to agree with the exaggeration part of this. I think that many people probably exaggerated the views of the southerners and the northerns and even the way slaves were treated. I think that many bad things happened to the slaves especially the cruelty they faced but something to me says that oral stories that are passed on and on and then eventually written down aren't all that reliable.
